Bel Ombre Primary School proudly participated in this year’s vibrant Book Parade, held on a rainy yet joyful Saturday morning in Victoria. This lively event, part of the National Council for Children’s Festival Zanfan (Children’s Festival), aimed to promote reading as a fun and engaging activity for children, aligning with the theme ‘Les zanfan reste zanfan’ (Let children be children).

Bel Ombre Primary School students brought their favorite book characters to life at this year’s Book Parade! Our students represented the story of “The Twelve Dancing Princesses,” delighting onlookers with their colorful and enchanting costumes.
A total of 22 primary schools and over 400 children took part in the parade. The young participants were dressed in various costumes representing characters from their chosen books, transforming the streets of Victoria into a living storybook.
The parade began at the International Conference Centre (ICCS) at around 10am and followed a route that included landmarks such as the Clock Tower, the Anglican Church, the Police Station, the Hindu Temple, the Victoria Market, and concluded at the National Museum of History.

The lively procession, filled with joy and creativity, showcased the magic of books and the importance of reading, making this annual event a highlight that encourages young readers to explore new worlds through literature
